about bookstagram tours: bookstagrammers


Bookstagram tour is a virtual tour across Instagram for a certain book. If you know what a blog tour is, you'll be able to understand what a Bookstagram tour is easily, since Bookstagram tours are blog tours, but via Instagram! Tours books are of various genres (children's, middle grade, young adult, new adult, adult, comics, christian, etc) and are open to all countries for sign ups.

What happens is that a publisher or author will "book" a Bookstagram tour. The tour consists of multiple "tour stops", which are Instagram accounts. The stops aka Instagram accounts, are the tour hosts and will be responsible for promoting the book that is being toured. 

The role that Bookstagrammers play is to post 2-3 photos of the book that is touring within a specific month so that way the book can reach a wider audience. 

If you sign up to become a tour host, you will begin receiving emails for tour sign ups. If you are chosen to host a specific tour, the physical tour book will be sent to you free of charge to feature on your Instagram account. 

As a Bookstagrammer, you  can choose how much you want to be involved in a tour. 


Here are the requirements for being a host for on  tour:
  • post 2-3 photos of a specific book within a month's timeframe. If there is a giveaway for the tour, an extra photo (4th post) will be required to be posted on your account to get the word out about the giveaway. 
  • Caption requirements involve your thoughts on the book (if you're excitited to read it, if you already have, etc), synopsis of the book, and hashtags related to the book, publisher, and tours. 
  • Other requirements are tagging the author and publisher in your photos. 
  • complete FTC requirements: explain the promotion and how it is a LovingDemBooks Bookstagram tour and state to your followers that you received the book for free in exchange for promotion.
  • Verify all of your requirements and optionals (info on optionals below). There will be a form after the tour for you to fill out and submit all of your photos and optionals. 
  • Optionals: consist of extra promotion on your other social media platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads), blog posts, and reviews on third party consumer websites (Amazon, Goodreads  Book Depository, Barnes and Noble, etc). The more optionals you do, the higher the chance of you landing a spot on a tour! (generally 10 spots and 50-60 sign ups per tour


There is no requirement for the amount of followers or likes that you have to have in order to sign up or participate in a Bookstagram Tour. Everyone is welcome to sign up and decisions are based off of quantity of books available. 


How it works/process:
  1. Bookstagrammer signs up to be a host
  2. Bookstagrammer becomes part of a mailing list in which they will be notified of when new tour sign ups are available
  3. Bookstagrammer sign ups become available
  4. Bookstagrammer signs up for a tour
  5. If Bookstagrammer is chosen to be a part of a tour they applied for, they will receive a book in the mail for free sent by the author or publisher
  6. BookTuber is assigned which month they have to post 2-3 photos of the book and complete requirements
  7. Bookstagrammer may do additional optional requirements
